Now then people, let’s get one thing clear before we start. The best way to lose weight is to eat healthily and follow a sensible exercise and fitness program. But many of us, including me, sometimes need a bit of help to see long term dieting results and weight loss pills are the dieter’s greatest buddy in achieving that goal.

Now there are loads of weight loss pills out there and they all claim you will lose loads of weight quickly while eating normally. But that people is absolute rubbish. If someone tells me that I can eat normally I will put on weight because I can shift a plate of food faster than anyone on this earth - FACT. You are overweight because you are eating normally as it is your present eating habit that is making you fat.

At the beginning of the year I was 40 pounds overweight and felt absolutely wretched. Food is a big part of my life and going on a diet would make me miserable and depressed and I was miserable and depressed for large chunks of my life because I have been on every diet that man ever invented. Sure I lost weight but all too soon the pounds would slowly go back on again. It was a vicious circle.

So I decided to give weight loss pills a go with surprising results. The first time I tried them I ate normally, which as I have said before is what was making me fat in the first place. Although I didn’t put more weight on I didn’t particularly feel well either. But when I used the weight loss pills in conjunction with a low fat diet plan the results were amazing.

Now I didn’t follow a rigid diet plan. They drive me mad. All that weighing and counting calories is too much like hard work. All I did was tweak normal everyday recipes with low fat alternatives. For example, if a recipe said to use cream I would use low fat Creme Fraiche. If it said use butter I would replace with extra low fat butter or margarine. If it said teaspoons of any type of oil I would use a low fat spray. Believe me that by doing this you will save loads of calories and the result is as tasty if not better than the original.

Let me give you a great recipe to try which is low fat and absolutely scrummy. I absolutely adore pies or pasties of any description but as we all know they are mega fattening and in my research of menu ideas for us overweight souls I came across a great low fat alternative that I now actually prefer to the real thing.

Ingredients and method for the crust are:

200g of dried Semolina
100g of Extra Low Fat Philadelphia Cream Cheese
1 Egg beaten
A little Skimmed Milk
Pinch of Salt
1 teaspoon of Baking Powder

Put the cream cheese in a bowl and mix with the egg until nice and creamy. Add the salt and the baking powder. Then add the dried semolina with a little skimmed milk to make a dough like pastry.

I put this in the fridge for about an hour so it sets a bit. I then roll it out on a board with a bit of flour so it doesn’t stick and there you have your pastry crust.

You can put any filling in that you like, sweet or savory. My favorite is a chicken and mushroom filling. I use leftover cooked roast chicken, around 250-300g, about 100g sliced mushrooms, and either 100g of broccoli or asparagus, or both. I then mix in a can of condensed mushroom soup and 200ml of skimmed milk. If you live in America use Campbells condensed mushroom soup. In England it is Batchelors condensed mushroom soup. You can use the low fat version if you want but I don’t.

Mix the lot together and put in a pie dish and then cover with your crust. I usually brush the top of the crust with a little beaten egg to give it a nice golden brown finish. Put in a moderate oven for around 25-30 minutes. This serves four people.

A sweet version is just to stew up some cooking apples and pears with a few sultanas and a dash of cinnamon and sweeten with Splenda to your taste. Put in pie dish and cover with your crust. Absolutely gorgeous. You can use any favorite fruit.

Go on, try it. It tastes as good as the original I promise you and you will never go back to the full fat version.

So to recap: Weight loss pills with a low fat diet works. Having lost 20 pounds in a couple of months and not feeling like I am on a diet is awesome. Get your recipe books out and replace fattening ingredients with low fat alternatives. But don’t go mad with your portions. It maybe low fat but that doesn’t mean you can eat it in vast quantities. Store bought blends, smoothies, fruit drinks and acai blended with other fruits have the acai name, but isn’t as good for you as acai preserved as close to natural as possible. The thing to keep in mind also is that the effects will vary. Hypnosis for Weight Loss - My Experience. Helpful Facts to Be Aware of

The subconscious mind is a subject of much debate. Some say that it wields more power over our everyday actions than we know, while others discount it as more or less an additional complexity of the vast human mind to be pondered, but nothing so powerful as to control our every choice. This is where self for weight loss hypnosis enters the picture.

First, let’s start off on a little history lesson on hypnosis. Hypnosis as we know it today actually has its roots (arguably) in several different cultures, at around the same time, hundreds of years ago. It’s roots go back to early Hindu cultures as well as early European civilizations as a means of healing one’s body and treating ailments.

Here’s where it gets interesting. It is believed that hypnosis may have crept into modern medicine and common practice inadvertently through what may have been the first failed “placebo” experiment on whether magnet therapy worked or not, performed hundreds of years ago at the request of the medical community.

Magnet therapy was put into practice and was believed to have helped heal many people’s ailments until it was put to the test and found that the only effect it had on anyone was what was called a “placebo” effect.

A placebo effect is basically an effect that is physiologically real (you can feel it physically, and your body obeys the suggestion of the mind), but is in fact simply brought on, or conjured up, by the human mind. It is essentially the power of suggestion at work, and that is exactly what hypnosis is - the utilization of the power of subconscious suggestion.

Hypnosis is a deeply relaxed “trance” state where suggestions made verbally by the hypnotizer are grabbed by the subconscious mind of the person being hypnotized, and the power of suggestion is such that the subject’s body and mind obey the “orders” of the hypnotizer, without even fully and consciously realizing why or how.

I experienced the power that hypnotism can have when I purchased some weight loss CD’s and attempted self hypnosis as a means to help control my ballooning appetite - and waistline, and was shocked at how it actually worked and gave me an unshakable sense of self control and “calm” that I’d never felt before.

My previous attempts at losing extra weight that I had gained were not pleasant experiences. I am not “overweight” by most standards, but I definitely fluctuate in the ten pound bracket up and down all of the time because I really do love food. Just experiencing the different tastes and textures of food is such an experience to me that I sometimes don’t realize that what I’m putting in my mouth is polluting my body and adding unnecessary extra weight.

Not only are the foods I choose wrong many times, but I also can tend to eat too much at one sitting, feeling bloated and moody afterwards. So, I wanted to take control of my eating habits again, and had always wanted to try self hypnosis to see if it could help me gain that quiet inner strength and that little voice guiding me to make the right decisions, and quelling my appetite.

And it did. The first time I listened to the it I was, as instructed in a deeply relaxed state which was accomplished by following the hypnotist’s instructions to take several deep breaths. The soothing voice was accompanied by what sounded like trance music, and I became so relaxed I actually dozed off (which she said was ok, in fact, expected).

I did it right before bed, and I woke up the next morning pretty much forgetting that I had listened to it. I went through my day without the usual cravings for sugar and high fat, high salt foods that usually litter my day at work due to stress or boredom with mundane tasks (can’t we all identify with that).

I tend to have somewhat of an oral fixation, especially when at work, meaning that I like to always be chewing or sipping on something. But I noticed this overwhelming urge did not hit me, and instead I just sipped on my water and some hot tea, and only ate when I was truly hungry. Strangely enough, I didn’t even have my usual mid-afternoon craving for chocolate.

Often times I’d be hitting up the candy machine for Peanut M&M’s around that time, and the afternoon came and went without the urge to eat chocolate. I thought this was a major accomplishment for me, but I also wondered if it wasn’t some of that “placebo effect” entering in.

Since I knew that I had listened to the hypnosis CD, was I actually “talking myself into” believing the hypnosis was cutting my appetite and shaping my food decisions as well as my intentions to work out?

Well, isn’t that what hypnosis is - that is, a placebo effect in itself? I suppose it doesn’t really matter, because the end result is that I saw a dramatic change in my eating habits, all seemingly without the pain of a constant internal struggle to not eat.

As far as the root cause of it, I really could care less. It accomplished the task of giving me a renewed sense of self control and eating to live, not living to eat, and that is all that matters in the end!

Why I Wanted to Try An Acai Berry Free Sample

Every time you get on the internet and search for something, you see ads for acai berries. Not only that, it’s in my magazines and it’s even in my V8 juice! It’s everywhere! I’m not one to try free offers (mainly because I never remember to cancel them and then I get charged later for a membership I’ve joined - darn that fine print that I always forget to read). I decided to give it a try this time so I ordered my free offer of acai berry juice a day or so ago. It hasn’t gotten to me yet, but here is why I decided to try it.

The acai berry is just plain good for you. That pretty much sums up my choice. I’m a busy mom and I don’t always take care of myself like I should. I do exercise and take a multi vitamin, but I’m tired and I’m stressed out and I feel like I need something else. If all the claims out there are true (which I’m sure they are not) I will lose a little weight (10 pounds would make me happy), slow the aging process (awesome), have a healthy heart and reduce my risk of cancer (who wouldn’t want that), and have a little extra energy (yes please!). Even if these claims aren’t true I can still benefit from the added antioxidants that I wouldn’t otherwise be getting. I will be getting extra omegas and some extra protein and fiber. And, as long as I don’t forget to cancel my membership if I don’t like it, it’s free. It really is a no lose situation.

If you want to know more, here are the offers I looked at and what I chose and why. I am sure they are all pretty much the same, but it came down to little things when I chose.

The first offer I saw was Acai Burn Xtreme for Men because my husband had it up. While this is one of the best diet pills for men featuring acai berries, I didn’t want to order something targeted at men.

The next offer I saw was for Acai Berry Blast. This was an offer that shipped to about 30 different countries, but none of them were the US. There is an offer for the US too, but I wanted to keep looking.

The last acai berry offer I looked at was for Acai Burn. This was very similar to the Acai Burn Xtreme site I saw first, but it was targeted at women. I chose this one because it really seemed to want to educate you and help you lose weight.

While I was looking, I came across some international offers so if you live in the UK or Canada, you should check out the acai blast UK page or the acai berry Canada page for some great deals.

For the record, I am not a medical professional, has never played one on TV, and didn’t even sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
