Diabetes - The Diabetic Shopping List Essentials

Following on from the good food for diabetes article, I thought I would share with you some store cupboard essentials if you have diabetes.

Basically using these kind of products should help you keep your sugar levels at a better level. Also, another resource you may want to check out to help control diabetes more effectively can be found here

  • Stock up on low-GI carbohydrates, such as basmati rice, egg noodles, wholemeal pasta, pulses, lentils, new potatoes, sweet potatoes and yam
  • Go for muesli, porridge oats or high fibre cereals for breakfast
  • Plenty of veg, either fresh, frozen, canned or dried
  • Go for lower fat varieties when it comes to milk and dairy products.
